Situated in Orkney, the center also spearheads innovative projects investigating floating wind, the integration of renewables, green hydrogen and e-fuels, and the decarbonization of islands.

In the role of Operations and Technology Director, you will oversee EMEC’s operational, technical, and project delivery functions, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality results. You will promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and innovation within the organization, guaranteeing the maintenance and availability of company assets and exceptional service standards.
You will collaborate closely with the executive team, report to, and act as a deputy for the Managing Director, while effectively communicating with EMEC’s Board.
Our ideal applicant holds a degree in a technical or engineering field, with 10-15 years of post-educational experience, including operational leadership and risk management within a marine environment. Experience in a commercially operated service sector and a demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary technical teams across various locations is essential.
