Dogger Bank Wind Farm has finalized a vessel booking agreement with Seaway7, a segment of the Subsea7 Group, to charter a second turbine installation vessel to facilitate deliveries to the offshore wind farm located off the coast of England.
Commencing in 2026, the Seaway Ventus jack-up installation vessel is anticipated to initiate turbine transport and installation operations for GE Vernova Haliade-X offshore wind turbines at the Dogger Bank site.
This agreement signifies additional tasks for Seaway7 on the Dogger Bank development, where the firm holds contracts for the transportation and installation of the monopile foundations and transition pieces across all three phases of the project, with the operations on Dogger Bank A complete and the operations on Dogger Bank B largely finalized.
Turbine installation and commissioning activities are ongoing at Dogger Bank A, with the first phase of the offshore wind farm expected to be completed in the latter half of calendar year 2025.
When fully operational in 2027, Dogger Bank will be the largest offshore wind farm worldwide.
Dogger Bank Wind Farm is a joint venture involving SSE Renewables (40%), Equinor (40%), and Vårgrønn (20%). SSE Renewables is spearheading the development of the project on behalf of the three joint venture partners. Equinor will be the primary operator of the wind farm upon completion for its projected operational lifespan of approximately 35 years.
