December 12, 2024 | Battery Energy On-line announced its first-ever Best of Show Award during the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference yesterday in Las Vegas. Out of the 9 contenders selected from the array of novel products showcased at the event, the attendee group—well over 1,500—chose to honor ENEOS Materials Corporation and Keysight.
The Best of Show People’s Choice Awards celebrate innovative products within the automotive battery sector. The awards competition was accessible to all exhibitors at the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference, and participating companies submitted their products for evaluation prior to the event. Nine new products were selected as contenders. These novel products were presented at the event, and attendees cast their votes for the People’s Choice Award once the conference commenced. Please note, selection was not influenced by sponsorship level or exhibiting involvement. Finalists include new products from BattGenie, Chroma Systems Solutions, Dragonfly Energy Corp, MTI Corporation, OnTo Technology, Saint-Gobain, and Tsing Bosch.
The two winning products consist of binder materials from ENEOS Materials and a groundbreaking centralized battery pack laboratory solution from Keysight. Here are their entries:

BINDER
https://www.eneos-materials.com/
ENEOS Materials Corporation is a producer of binder materials for lithium-ion batteries. While the primary function of binder materials is to act as the adhesive between active materials and current collectors, many battery manufacturers have recently requested us to actively assist in enhancing battery performance, including fast charging and reducing environmental impact. For instance, our latest Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) binder can significantly decrease cell resistance and improve fast charging efficiency as an anode binder. As fast charging is regarded as one of the most crucial aspects for expanding electric vehicle batteries, this SBR binder is garnering strong interest from battery and automotive manufacturers. Additionally, we have newly developed an eco-friendly acrylate binder, which is a water-based emulsion for cathode electrodes and does not contain a fluorine group in its polymer structure. This PFAS-free binder is anticipated to be a promising candidate to accelerate the production of eco-friendly electrodes. We have already commenced providing binders for all-solid-state batteries, and we are also exploring further enhancements. Furthermore, we have been developing binders for dry processes and other innovative batteries. We will continue to play a pivotal role in CONNECTING THE FUTURE. Even materials deemed inactive in the electrode, such as binders, can significantly influence battery performance. The quantity of binder in the electrode is quite limited, yet binder materials can have a considerable impact on battery efficiency. We believe our binder materials can be advantageous for further advancements in battery technology.

SL1770A Scienlab Power Allocation Management Solution for Battery Testing
https://www.keysight.com/us/en/home.html
In the rapidly advancing automotive sector, the need for effective and reliable battery testing solutions has reached unprecedented levels. The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and new technologies requires comprehensive testing. We introduce our state-of-the-art centralized battery pack lab solution, designed to transform the way large labs operate. By centralizing power electronics and distributing energy throughout the lab, we provide unmatched efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Our solution addresses the issue of scaling beyond the grid supply when focusing solely on peak power demand. It capitalizes on the fact that most testing profiles do not necessitate maximum power continuously, allowing surplus power to be directed to other test benches and shifting focus onto average power. Driven by the latest industry trends, our solution offers exceptional flexibility in configuring test benches, including adaptability in channel count, maximum power, voltage options, switching, and lower power integration. While power is centralized and our Power Allocation Manager oversees distribution, test execution and channels remain independent, ensuring unparalleled reliability. Whether you are developing new battery technologies or optimizing existing ones, our solution empowers you to achieve your objectives with confidence and efficiency. Experience the future of battery testing and allocate excellence to your laboratory.
