Sea and Marine Energy

Sea and Marine Energy are forms of renewable energy that are derived from the ocean and its resources. This includes energy from waves, tides, currents, salinity, and thermal gradients. Wave energy is generated by the movement of the ocean’s surface, and can be harnessed using devices such as buoys, oscillating water columns, and overtopping devices. Tidal energy is generated by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun, and can be harnessed using barrages, turbines, and tidal lagoons. Current energy is generated by the movement of the ocean’s currents, and can be harnessed using turbines. Salinity energy is generated by the difference in salinity between two bodies of water, and can be harnessed using reverse osmosis. Thermal energy is generated by the temperature difference between two bodies of water, and can be harnessed using ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) systems.
