The Dutch wind energy export entity Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) will combine with NMT-IRO, a Dutch association for the maritime sector, starting on 1 January 2026.
With robust backing from its members, HHWE endorsed the merger proposal during a special general meeting. This consolidation represents a major advancement in reinforcing the (inter)national standing of the Dutch offshore wind industry.
The merger consolidates two entities that have long been dedicated to advocating and supporting the global ambitions of the Dutch offshore energy domain. By merging efforts, they establish one cohesive association with a singular, influential voice both internationally and within the Netherlands.
Jeroen de Graaf, Director of NMT-IRO, remarks: “This merger fosters a stronger, more cohesive representation of the Dutch offshore wind sector internationally. By integrating our expertise, networks, and initiatives, we amplify our effectiveness and are better equipped to back the international growth aspirations of our members.”
Wim Jenniskens, Chairman of HHWE, states: “This is a strategic partnership that brings together the most prominent players in the Dutch maritime, offshore, and renewable industries. Collectively, we’re establishing a robust platform for the future.”
Through the merger, the two trade associations aim to provide enhanced efficiency and visibility in global trade missions and exhibitions, a wider network for members, and increased influence in public affairs, communication, and strategic positioning.
In the lead-up to the merger, the HHWE team will systematically integrate into the NMT-IRO office. A joint member briefing is scheduled for September to share further details on the forthcoming steps. Source: HHWE
