EliTe Solar, a photovoltaic PV manufacturer based in Singapore, has conducted a ceremonial groundbreaking for its latest project within the Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, signifying a significant achievement in the company’s global strategic growth.
The facility has an aimed capacity target of 5 GW, covering an area of 78,000 square meters. Production is set to commence in September 2025, incorporating 2 GW solar cell and 3 GW solar module manufacturing lines.
This initiative introduces advanced energy production technologies to Egypt, enhancing the local solar industry supply chain and elevating Egypt’s export capabilities and global influence in the solar market. It injects new energy into the local economy and serves as a crucial factor in supporting Egypt’s 2030 renewable energy objective of achieving 42% clean energy transformation.
In light of recent electricity shortages and outages experienced throughout Egypt this year, which underscore substantial future electricity demands, there exists an urgent necessity for a diversified energy portfolio to ensure energy autonomy. This initiative aptly meets these requirements by providing sustainable solutions through renewable energy sources. Upon completion, the project will produce 500 million kWh annually, conserving approximately 307 million tons of standard coal, and compensating carbon emissions equivalent to planting 84 million trees.
Since its founding, EliTe Solar has set up multiple manufacturing centers in countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, and Egypt, thus reinforcing its international industrial footprint. Looking ahead, EliTe Solar will persist in propelling energy transformation through high-quality technology exports, further contributing to global sustainable development.
