EnBW has initiated a request for proposals for crew transfer vessels (CTVs) that will function at its offshore wind facilities in the German sector of the Baltic Sea.
The organization aims to lease three vessels, with operations commencing around 1 April 2026. The contract(s) will extend until 31 December 2028.
The CTV tender, segmented into three lots (a lot for each CTV lease), is accepting submissions until 5 June this year.
Lot 1 of the tender is designated for one 12-PAX CTV to facilitate the transfer of technicians and cargo to and from the Baltic 1 offshore wind facility, with operational periods from 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026 and from 1 April 2027 to 30 September 2027.
The base port for the Baltic 1 CTV is Barhöft.
For lots 2 and 3, EnBW will allocate contracts for two CTVs for the Baltic 2 offshore wind facility, with the vessels operating from the base port of Klintholm.
Regarding Baltic 2, the company is searching for one 12-PAX CTV that will be utilized from 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026 and from 1 April 2027 to 30 September 2027, as well as one 18-PAX CTV that will be operational from 1 April 2026 until 31 March 2028.
The Baltic 1 offshore wind facility includes 21 Siemens SWT-2.3-93 turbines located approximately 15 kilometers north of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula. The 48.3 MW Baltic 1, Germany’s inaugural commercial-scale offshore wind facility, was launched in May 2011.
Baltic 2 is situated 32 kilometers north of the Island of Rügen and began operations in September 2015. The wind farm is composed of 80 SWT-3.6-120 wind turbines.
