NMDC Group and Vingroup have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that enables the two companies to work together on sustainable coastal land development and offshore wind initiatives in Vietnam.
“Through this partnership, we will undertake extensive coastal protection, land reclamation projects, and the advancement of offshore wind and renewable energy in Vietnam, leveraging our cutting-edge marine engineering solutions to foster environmental sustainability and enhance long-term coastal resilience,” stated NMDC Group in a social media update on 31 October.
The Abu Dhabi-based company has previously engaged in the offshore wind domain, having completed a contract for the Yunlin project in Taiwan, where NMDC Energy was responsible for installing the monopile foundations. The 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind farm is now fully operational with the last of its 80 turbines installed this October.
Regarding Vingroup, alongside NMDC Group, the Hanoi-based entity has recently finalized MOUs with two additional collaborators in the UAE, AD Ports Group and Benya Technologies.
AD Ports Group and Vingroup will investigate prospects for joint development in shipyard construction capabilities, logistics frameworks, and port operations. In collaboration with Benya Technologies, Vingroup has partnered to evaluate feasibility and devise plans for several projects, including a hyper-scale data center and associated technical, energy, and water treatment systems.
