Nexif Ratch Energy announces that the Philippines’ Department of Energy has conferred its 500 MW San Miguel Bay Wind Project with the Energy Project of National Significance designation.
This offshore wind initiative, situated in San Miguel Bay, Camarines Sur, will significantly contribute to achieving the nation’s renewable energy objectives and strengthening energy reliability.
The designation acknowledges energy initiatives that entail substantial capital investments (exceeding PHP 3.5 billion) and are vital for national energy reliability and economic growth. This endorsement accelerates the project’s regulatory authorizations, ensuring it can progress rapidly with improved coordination among government agencies and local government units, thus aiding its prompt realization.
Nexif Ratch Energy states that its Lucena Wind Power Project, a 475 MW offshore wind energy initiative in Quezon Province, has also received the Green Lane Certificate from the Philippines’ Board of Investments.
This certificate identifies the initiative as a strategic investment, facilitating a more streamlined procedure for acquiring permits and licenses from both national agencies and local governments.
The San Miguel Bay Wind Project had been previously granted the Green Lane Certificate in June.
