The PNE Group has successfully finalized an enlargement of its wind farm situated in the municipality of Gnutz, found in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district of Schleswig-Holstein. This newest enhancement comprises the activation of four additional wind turbines in the Gnutz West I b area, leading to a combined installed capacity augmentation of 22.4 megawatts (MW).
This enlargement includes two Vestas V162 and two V150 turbines, with each having a capacity of 5.6 MW. Functional since May 2025, these turbines are currently supplying green energy to the grid and are expected to meet the yearly electricity demands of around 16,700 households with three individuals each.
With this recent addition, the Gnutz West wind farm now features a total output of 30.8 MW. This progress significantly improves the region’s sustainable energy availability and bolsters eco-friendly initiatives. Roland Stanze, Chief Operating Officer of PNE AG, remarked, “The Gnutz West wind farm exemplifies the partnerships we are developing in Schleswig-Holstein with landowners and community members. It highlights the alignment of local interests with the strategic goals of an Independent Power Producer like PNE, going beyond conventional land leasing practices.”
