Deugro’s Rotra Futura, which was delivered in April 2025, has officially started operations with the transport of offshore wind turbine blades from Denmark to the US.

The project supply vessel, specifically crafted to manage larger and heavier offshore wind turbine parts, acquired the 108-meter blades at the Port of Aalborg with oversight from deugro Denmark’s wind team. Rotra Futura is transporting the blades to Portsmouth Marine Terminal in Norfolk, Virginia.
“Observing the initial loading operation executed effortlessly and accurately – just as we had envisioned – is a proud moment for our entire team. Rotra Futura has met our expectations, reinforcing her crucial role in addressing the logistics requirements of the offshore wind sector,” stated Dennis Bjørslev Jensen, Branch Manager, deugro Denmark.
Concordia Damen partnered with Amasus, deugro Denmark, Siemens Gamesa, and DEKC Maritime in the design and construction of two RoRo vessels, namely Rotra Futura and Rotra Horizon.
Rotra Futura was launched at Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard in China during November 2024.
