TotalEnergies has secured a controlling interest in Jammerland Bay and Lillebælt South offshore wind farms in Denmark from European Vitality and SONFOR.
As part of the arrangement, TotalEnergies obtained 85 percent of the equity in the 240 MW Jammerland Bay and 72.2 percent of the equity in the 165 MW Lillebælt South offshore wind projects.
European Vitality and SONFOR will remain minority stakeholders in Lillebælt South, while European Vitality will also hold a minority stake in the Jammerland Bay offshore wind project.
“We’ve been collaborating on the Lillebælt South offshore wind farm for 14 years and are convinced that TotalEnergies is the ideal partner to advance the project. We eagerly anticipate the inauguration in 2029, where it will be a significant contributor to Sønderborg Municipality’s quest for climate neutrality,” stated Ellen Trane Nørby, Chair of SONFOR.
Both wind farms are included in the 9 open-door projects that were confirmed by the Danish Energi Agency in December 2023.
The projects have received construction permits from the Danish Energi Agency, signaling the green light for the establishment of the two offshore wind farms.

The electricity generated at these locations will likely be sold directly in the wholesale electricity market or through power purchase agreements (PPAs).
The partners aim for both offshore wind farms to be operational by 2029. The total amount of electricity generated by the two projects is expected to match the energy consumption of approximately 400,000 European households.
