OCI Vitality and Arava Energy have engaged in their second agreement — establishing a tripartite collaboration to create Undertaking SunRoper, a 260-MWAC solar energy facility in Wharton County, Texas.
Situated roughly 60 miles southwest of downtown Houston, this initiative will deliver essential renewable energy capacity to one of the highest electricity demand regions in both Texas and the United States. The development of Undertaking SunRoper is expected to commence in 2025.
“The collaboration between OCI Vitality and Arava Energy signifies our mutual vision to promote solar power solutions and improve the reliability of the grid in high-demand areas. Undertaking SunRoper symbolizes a significant advancement toward fostering economic development and energy security across communities in Texas and beyond, furthering our goal of enabling a sustainable and prosperous future,” stated Sabah Bayatli, President of OCI Vitality.
This joint venture continues the cooperation between OCI Vitality and Arava Energy. In 2021, Arava Energy acquired OCI Vitality’s Undertaking SunRay, a 200-MWAC solar facility located in Uvalde County, Texas, which recently became operational in September 2024.
Sidley Austin LLP acted as legal advisor to OCI Vitality while Norton Rose Fulbright represented Arava Energy in this deal.
