ONYX Insight, a Macquarie Capital-backed provider of condition-based monitoring (CMS) solutions for the global wind industry, has named Alexis Grenon as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Grenon brings nearly 20 years of experience from Schneider Electric, where he most recently served as CEO of the Digital Grid division and as a member of the board. In that role, he oversaw smart grid software solutions designed to help utilities manage energy supply and integrate renewable resources. Earlier in his career, he led global divisions delivering energy efficiency software, hardware, and recurring services, and began as a software engineer at Thales Air Systems.
Commenting on his appointment, Grenon said: “ONYX Insight’s CMS suite has grown to be a top choice for wind turbine operators, owners and manufacturers to anticipate operational issues and reduce downtime through predictive analytics and industry-leading sensing technology. I am honored to be leading the company into its next stage of growth.”
ONYX Insight currently monitors over 28,000 wind turbines across 35 countries, safeguarding more than USD 12 billion in assets. The company has been expanding its portfolio with new capabilities, including blade sensing technologies to prevent catastrophic blade failures, improve maintenance strategies, and enhance operational efficiency.
Macquarie Capital executives welcomed the appointment. John Spirtos, Senior Managing Director, said Grenon’s engineering background and expertise in digital energy solutions would strengthen ONYX’s value to customers. Ben Bailey, also Senior Managing Director, added that Grenon’s diverse energy sector experience would advance the company’s technology suite and support its global growth ambitions.
