Trinasolar has delivered its Elementa 2 platform (5 MWh) to AMEA Energy for the 300 MWh Abydos Battery Energy Storage Initiative in Aswan, Egypt.
This project is the largest solar PV endeavor in Africa and is the first to incorporate a utility-scale battery energy storage solution (BESS) in Egypt.
Conceptualized by AMEA Energy, the Abydos initiative is an expansion of the existing 500 MW Abydos Solar PV power facility, which is operational, in Kom Ombo, Aswan Governorate.
The implemented Elementa 2 platform (5MWh), featuring Trinasolar’s proprietary vertically integrated LFP cells, is a sophisticated grid-scale battery storage system designed for efficiency, safety, and dependability. Notable attributes consist of an innovative module design to boost energy density and compatibility with various PCS systems, precise thermal management through intelligent liquid cooling technology, and comprehensive safety mechanisms equipped with advanced fire mitigation and suppression features. Constructed for flexibility, efficacy, and economical maintenance, this platform maximizes performance while minimizing overall project costs.
