Marco Polo Marine’s offshore wind subsidiary, PKR Offshore (PKRO), has finalized a framework agreement with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy to charter two commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) for offshore wind projects in Taiwan.
The framework agreement is set for an initial duration of two years starting in 2029, with the option to commence operations in 2028. There are provisions for additional extensions ranging from one to three years.
Under this agreement, PKRO will deploy two of its CSOVs on a non-exclusive basis for Siemens Gamesa’s offshore wind initiatives in Taiwan, as well as collaborate on projects in South Korea and Japan.
The vessels included in the agreement consist of PKRO’s second CSOV, which is currently under construction at Marco Polo Marine’s shipyard in Batam, Indonesia, with a scheduled delivery in the second quarter of 2028. Additionally, a third vessel is in the planning phase. Both units will be outfitted with Siemens Energy’s BlueDrive PlusC hybrid propulsion system.
This agreement enhances PKRO’s existing operations in Taiwan, where its first CSOV, Wind Archer, has been active since it entered service in 2025.
