Amasus Delivery, a Dutch maritime firm, has not too long ago launched the Rotra Futura, the primary of two ROTRA XL vessels, at Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard in China. This vessel is purpose-built to help the offshore wind business.
The design of the ROTRA XL vessels is a collaborative effort involving Siemens Gamesa, deugro, DEKC Maritime, and Concordia Damen. This revolutionary vessel idea advances the established and award-winning Rotra collection, which incorporates the Rotra Mare and Rotra Vente. The ROTRA XL vessels are engineered to accommodate the rising dimensions and weight of next-generation offshore wind turbine parts, guaranteeing optimum cargo consumption and operational versatility.
The Rotra Futura, together with its sister vessel Rotra Horizon, measures 167.6 meters in size and 26 meters in width. The vessels function a strategically positioned deckhouse and lodging part on the entrance, which maximizes cargo consumption and eliminates any line-of-sight restrictions. Key options embrace a stern roll-on/roll-off (RO/RO) ramp, three Liebherr cranes, and a specialised gantry system that permits for the storage of wind turbine blades in three tiers. This configuration enhances the pliability in cargo association and loading strategies.
Siemens Gamesa and deugro have secured a long-term constitution settlement for each newly constructed vessels, that are anticipated to be delivered in 2025. Supply: Amasus Delivery / deugro
